Job Description:

Caseworker

Mino Care is seeking a compassionate, motivated and dedicated Caseworker to join our team. The Caseworker advocates for clients and performs duties that align with Mino Care's vision, mission, and goals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clients and their families to provide counselling and support, as well as identify and model support that is appropriate for their needs. To be successful in this role, you must be empathetic, aware of local community resources, and have experience in a social services setting.

Roles/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

● Provides counselling and support to clients, identifying needs and facilitating access to services

● Liaises with community agencies and hospitals to ensure clients receive appropriate referrals and support services

● Utilizes case management strategies to develop,  implement and monitor client progress

● Responds to clients' urgent needs, ensures a safe environment for vulnerable individuals, and reports abuse

● Assesses cases and compiles case reports with relevant information

● Collects and records case management statistics on a daily basis and prepares an outcome measures report on a monthly basis to the Program Coordinator

● Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social services, psychology or related field, with one-two years of case management experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered

● Possesses First Aid and CPR certifications

● Demonstrates knowledge of community-based resources

● Ability to assess needs or risks and experience with crisis-intervention methodologies

● Excellent communication, active listening and interpersonal skills

● Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask to manage multiple cases

● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

● Empathy and compassion towards clients

● Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity

● Computer literacy is necessary

● Ability to under go applicable screening and background checks

Time Commitment:

40 hours per month

$28/h
